Carousel Court at South Coast Plaza

South Coast Plaza is one of southern California's premiere shopping destinations located in Costa Mesa, CA.  When I take my kids to go shopping, we like to go to the Carousel Court.  We call it "the kids section".  The Carousel Court side of the mall has a lot of great stores for kids like Pottery Barn Kids, GAP stores, Puzzle Zoo, Gymboree, Justice, Sanrio store, Disney store, Catimini, Lego Store and a lot more

In the center of it all is the Carousel Ride.  This is the best carousel ride there is in OC.  It's only $1 to ride it ... how awesome is that!  Every paid ticket has a coupon in the back of the ticket for discount to restaurants like Corner Bakery, Rainforest Cafe, Ruby's Diner, Z Tejas, Haagen-Dazs, Boudin SF and many more.  What a great deal!

Another fun thing I like about the Carousel Court at South Coast Plaza is that most of the events and activities in the mall happens around the Carousel Court

For instance, if you visit South Coast Plaza during the month of September, the mall celebrates the Festival of Children event, which my two daughters have participated in the past.  Your family will enjoy live dance performances, Back-to-School Fashion Show, face painting, magicians, jugglers, animal shows, puppet shows, arts & crafts stations throughout the mall, and amazingly talented dancers and singers from local schools, all aimed at celebrating children.

As soon as November 1st comes around, the entire mall is transformed and decorated lavishly into a holiday wonderland.  In the Carousel Court, the kids will enjoy to see Santa's Village with a holiday choo-choo train going around the village.  The Carousel Horse ride is transformed into Santa's Raindeer Carousel ride and only for $1.

Children will also enjoy a variety of holiday arts & craft activities like the nutcracker, snowman, Santa, and other holiday toys.  And of course, a photo op with the big  guy himself, Santa!  He is there and ready to hear every child's wish for the holiday.  There is also a Santa Train Ride (still only for $1) for younger kids to enjoy after a photo op with Santa.  It is spectacular!

South Coast Plaza offers more than 150 stores to browse from apparel, shoes, bags, perfumes, specialty store, and a lot more.  It's a MEGA mall ... from the Carousel Court to the Jewel Court with high-end shops like Louie Vuitton, Tiffany, Burberry, Gucci, Christian Dior, Hermes, Salvatore Ferragamo, Chanel, Fendi, Tory Burch, and a lot more.

And across, the Bridge of the Gardens is yet another part of South Coast Plaza.  This side of the mall used to be called Crystal Court with home stores like Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, Z Gallery, Restoration Hardware, Sur La Table, NapaStyle; tech stores like Apple, Microsoft, Sony; athletic shoe stores like Addidas, Puma, Nike, New Balance; and a lot more stores.

With flagship stores like Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth, Sears, Macy's, Macy's For Men, Nordstroms, Crate & Barrel, Sport Chalet, and Macy's Homestore, it's a one-stop shopping mega mall for everyone.

So if you are planning to visit Southern California,  make sure South Coast Plaza is on your itinerary for some shopping pleasure. You will not be disappointed, I promise you.
